That's A ITALIAN !!! Very impressive from the food to guys behind the counter cooking and prepping. I kinda stumbled by this ITALIAN restaurant. We were running errands. The last stop was Aldi's a few doors away. I spotted this small ITALIAN restaurant, and opened the door to take a peek. The aroma coming through the door as I opened it, made up my mind quickly, we were giving this place a try. Ordered a Margherita Pizza, and The Boss Steak and Cheese sub, with all the trimmings, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and provolone cheese. We did take out, and it was torture trying to home to eat this....it was still piping hot... The pizza, I haven't had a pizza like this since I was down in south philly on 8th street. YUM - yum, yum.... All the ingredients were super fresh, the roll was just perfect. Wish the sandwich came in larger size. Will definitely be getting THE BOSS again. (definitely needs to be made larger) I look forward to trying their ITALIAN subs, and other Italian specialty dishes. There's veal, seafood, chicken and pasta to choose from. This place was completely full, every table was occupied. That states alot... I'll be back for sure.

Sal's has a consistently good formula across its dozen or so locations, so wherever you are, you can have a nice Italian meal at a decent price. The location in Delray Beach has plenty of booths and a warm, welcoming feel. When we arrived at 6:00 for dinner, we noticed the place was pretty full. Most of the diners were finishing up their "early bird" dinner, which is quite popular. The server was attentive although she seemed a bit harried and was very busy. She offered us a choice of plain rolls, garlic rolls or both. Yes, please (to both)! Sal's rolls are delightful, with a nice crust and a light flaky dough. Beware though: the garlic rolls are very garlicy. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad. Though the soup of the day, tomato florentine, sounded good, we opted for Sal's standard: pasta fagioli. It was full of pasta, beans and veggies. It was delicious but it did taste a bit salty. My wife had chicken parmesan, which she declared to be very good. It had a tasty sauce and the portion size was on the larger side. The chicken was quite tender. The only issue was that the entree, especially the pasta, was not very hot. I had the chicken marsala, which I enjoyed. The sauce was excellent and the mushrooms appeared to be fresh. As with the chicken parm, there was plenty of chicken marsala and pasta for a second meal. Bring on the doggie bags. For dessert, we had a chocolate chip cannoli and a panna cotta, which is a custard with strawberry sauce and blueberries. Buono! Is Sal's the best Italian restaurant around? Maybe not, but it is generally good and worth visiting.
